Imagine starting in the dark, head torch on, climbing steadily as the sky begins to glow. Then, just as you reach the ridge, the sun crests the horizon and bathes the Brecon Beacons in golden light.
This is the Pen y Fan Sunrise Walk — a special dawn adventure that takes you over three iconic summits: Corn Du, Pen y Fan (the highest peak in South Wales at 886 m), and Cribyn.
You’ll walk the classic “motorway” route in the quiet of the early morning, stand on the roof of South Wales as the day begins, and enjoy the mountains almost entirely to yourselves. The light changes every minute, the views open up dramatically, and that first sunrise moment from high on the ridge is something you’ll never forget.

This wonderful hike will test your fitness and endurance as you make your way through the creeks and up to the rocky summit — and it will leave an incredibly positive impression on you.
This is the classic Carrauntoohil ascent via Devil’s Ladder: a true bucket-list mountain day in the dramatic Macgillycuddy’s Reeks. You’ll climb through rugged terrain, enjoy ever-expanding views, and stand at the highest point in Ireland (1,038 m) with a real sense of achievement.
