This adventure is ideal for anyone looking to enjoy the beauty of the Lake District while taking on a rewarding but manageable hillwalking challenge.
It's particularly suited to:
Beginners looking to build their confidence in the hills
Walkers with a reasonable level of fitness who enjoy scenic routes
Friends, couples or individuals wanting a memorable day outdoors
Anyone looking to experience a mountain summit without tackling a more demanding climb
Nature lovers who enjoy a combination of hillwalking and peaceful lakeside exploration
No previous mountain experience is necessary, but participants should be comfortable walking on uneven terrain, including some steep and rocky sections.
-
Our adventure begins with a scenic ascent of Catbells, following well-established mountain paths as we climb towards the summit. Along the way, we'll enjoy beautiful views across Derwentwater, Keswick and the surrounding Lake District fells.
After reaching the 451m summit, we'll take time to enjoy the panoramic scenery before making our descent towards Derwentwater.
The adventure continues with a relaxed walk along the lakeside, offering a chance to enjoy the peaceful surroundings and take in the landscape from a different perspective.
The exact route may be adjusted by your guide depending on weather, ground conditions and the group's ability.
-
Weather in the Lake District can be unpredictable, even during the summer months. Conditions can change quickly, with sunshine giving way to rain, strong winds or reduced visibility.
Although Catbells is a relatively low fell, its exposed sections can feel very different from the sheltered lakeside below. Participants should come prepared with suitable walking footwear, waterproof clothing and additional layers.
-
Your adventure will be led by an experienced Eternal Adventures guide, providing navigation, support and encouragement throughout the day.
The route includes steep and uneven paths, rocky sections and some short areas where you may need to use your hands for balance. Your guide will manage the group's pace and provide guidance where needed.
Safety is always our priority, and the route or itinerary may be adjusted depending on weather conditions, terrain and the needs of the group.
