    Fitness level: Moderate to good fitness required. You should be comfortable walking 7.2 km with 750 m of ascent on steep but non-technical terrain.

  • We meet at Swirls Car Park and follow the clear path from Thirlmere up the western slopes of Helvellyn. The route is steady and scenic, leading you onto the broad summit plateau where you’ll enjoy the views before descending the same way.

  • August weather in the Lake District can be changeable — it may be warm and sunny or cool and wet on the tops. Proper waterproofs and layered clothing are recommended. Full weather and kit guidance is provided in your Welcome Pack after booking.
