🏅Adventurer Spotlight
We love sharing the real stories behind every summit at Eternal Adventures UK — and few have been as inspiring as Henry’s first mountain adventure.
At just 10 years old, Henry joined us on 28th March 2026 for his very first climb up Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) via the Pyg Track. Despite wintery conditions at the top — with a wind chill around -11°C and strong gusty winds — Henry showed impressive determination and a big smile throughout the day.
We asked Henry a few questions about his experience. Here’s what he had to say in his own words:
What is the reason you decided to climb Snowdon? “To challenge myself.”
How hard did you find Snowdon? “It was a bit difficult, walking along the ridge line was a bit scary.”
What was the feeling like when you got to the summit? “It was a mix of feelings, happy and scared but a great feeling of achievement.”
Has climbing Snowdon made you want to climb more mountains? “Yes definitely, I want to do the other 2 peaks in the 3 peak challenge.”
What was your favourite part of the trip? “Reaching the summit.”
What an honest and brilliant response from such a young adventurer! His mix of honesty about the scary ridge and pure pride in the achievement perfectly captures what climbing your first mountain is all about.
Henry & Jodie’s Big Plans
Having ticked off Snowdon as his first-ever mountain, Henry is now determined to complete the National 3 Peaks Challenge. He wants to summit Ben Nevis and Scafell Pike as well, aiming to finish all three peaks in a calendar year and earn his place on our Eternal Adventures Hall of Fame.
His mum Jodie is right beside him on the journey. She’s also working towards the National 3 Peaks and has set herself an even bigger goal — trekking to Everest Base Camp in 2028. What an incredible mother-son team!
We created a special short video to celebrate Henry’s Snowdon summit and his ambitious plans.
